Original Vintage Collection
Restocking of original vintage pieces is frequent and to avoid disappointment we do not have a catalogue of the dresses that are currently in our showroom. We do have original vintage images to view in the COLLECTIONS section of the website and a gallery of brides in the BRIDES section of the website. Both show pictures of dresses that we have sold from past original vintage collections.
We may have similar dresses in stock so it is always worth enquiring; however we will generally advise that the best way to find out if there is something for you is always to book an appointment.
Decades Collection
Alongside our Original Vintage Collection we have our own range of new vintage styles each inspired by an era, ranging from the 20s through to the 70s. The Decades Lace and Decades Silk collections can be viewed in COLLECTIONS section of the website.

- Do you sell dresses online? And can I hire a dress from you?

SORRY, WE DO NOT SELL DRESSES ONLINE. WE SELL DRESSES ONLY BY PRIVATE APPOINTMENT. We do not hire out dresses.
- Do you sell bridesmaids' dresses?

We do not currently stock bridesmaids' dresses. Sometimes our less formal dresses have been bought for a bridesmaid but we do not recommend a visit to us for this reason alone.
- Do you stock accessories?

We hold a collection of coats, capes, veils, headpieces, bags and jewellery. If you wish to come purely for accessories, your appointment will last half an hour only. If you are looking for something specific, please contact us for information on the accessories we are currently holding.
- What sizes do you have in your collection? Is it possible for me to alter a dress if it does not fit me?

Original Vintage Collection
We try whenever possible to source a wide and varying selection of sizes for our original Vintage collection. Our stock of dresses ranges from size 6 (UK) up to size 16 (UK). We do occasionally find the odd gem in sizes 18 and above so it is always worth contacting us.
It goes without saying that if you are a size 8 - 10 you will have the pick of the entire showroom as, with access to a full alteration service, we can take in and adjust most of the pieces we hold. That said it is also possible in the majority of cases to add panels and enlarge a smaller dress if you find one that you love. We will be able to advise you of the suitability of a dress for alteration, during your private appointment with us.
Decades Collection
Our new Vintage-style pieces are made in the UK to order and are available in sizes 8 - 14. For more information and images please see our Decades Silk and Decades Lace collections.
- How much will my alterations cost should I need them?

The Vintage Wedding Dress Company works in association with a high-end alterations company to offer our customers a specialised service.
Their seamstresses are highly skilled and have specialised experience in repairing and altering delicate Vintage dresses, working with you to adapt the piece you have chosen into your perfect wedding gown. Changes can range from a simple length adjustment, fitting a dress to make it smaller or adding panels to enlarge a smaller dress, to a complete restyle of a neckline or the addition or removal of sleeves.
Due to the wide range of services on offer quotes will vary. To allow us to give you a fair and all-inclusive price at your appointment, our dresses are allocated levels depending on their construction complexity. Each level comes with a specified number of fittings and a collection appointment; prices are then listed within a personal alterations booklet for all the work you require.
Your dress will be transferred free of charge to the alterations company to be ready for your first fitting should your appointment be booked within three months of purchase.

- What is the price range of your dresses?

Original Vintage Collection
Dress prices start at £950. We have up to 40 original vintage dresses in our collection at any one time and a good selection of prices that range up to £4,000. We do hold a number of very rare and collectable dresses at £4,000+.
Decades Collection
Our made-to-order dresses start at £1850.00.
- How far in advance before my wedding do I need to find my dress - especially if it may need alterations?

Original Vintage Collection
As we are not a traditional bridal boutique we do not require our customers to start their dress fittings quite so far in advance. Our recommended alterations company is available for last-minute adjustments especially if you are available to attend appointments on a weekday. Saturdays can be more booked up particularly during the early summer months. We recommend that you try to allow at least 2 months before your wedding for your first fitting appointment. There is also an express service available for those with under one month to go before their wedding; this will incur an extra 25% charge on top of the usual charge for the work required.
Decades Collection
Decades Collection dresses can be ordered in the relevant UK sizes. We have four set order dates per year. Orders may need to be submitted up to 6 months before your wedding depending on the style and any alterations you may require. We endeavour to keep a stock of popular styles for any urgent orders but we cannot guarantee every style and size. An express service is available for last-minute orders at the additional charge of 20% on top of the cost price.

Please note we are not a shop. You will need an appointment to view our collection at our private showroom. We will send you full location details once your appointment is confirmed.

- Tuesday: First appointment 5pm - last appointment 7.30pm
- Thursday: First appointment 5pm - last appointment 7.30pm
- Friday: first appointment 10am - last appointment 4.30pm
- Saturday: first appointment 10am - last appointment 4.30pm
- Sunday: first appointment 11.30am - last appointment 5.30pm
